The apex seals can go without any warning. I had one go bad on my '82. Doing approx 45mph one morning on the way to jury duty. Only real clue that seems to be common, was the car seemed to be running better the weeks before. Wasn't a real surprise. I drove it into the ground. No tlc ever given to it.

I'd get the series three if the price isn't that far off from getting the one you have repaired. Either that or make it into a do it yourself fix up hobby kinda thing. You can save approx 1800 of that 3000 bucks that way.

fast and furious.. HA!! I hate that phrase. Just so you know, to give you a heads up, we're not a bunch of ricers here, we all hate that movie, so please don't quote it unless you want to get flamed.

Ok, I guess we gave you enough ****

Blown apex seals, especially on the rear rotor, is somewhat common, depending on the car, and what's been done. I have no idea what year or type of car you have, but typically this is seen in turbo cars, usually after upgrading the exhaust.. If you don't take measures to keep from hitting fuel cut, you usually get detontation, and unfortunately that spells the end for an apex seal.

3K is expensive for a rebuilt motor, but not hugely out of line..

Sorry to hear about your problems, but.. Don't grab the two NAAAWWWS bottles on the way to the shop

They can just go like that. Last Monday, I drove to work just fine. On my way home, it went. Just the name of the game man. Good luck in searching for a rebuild!!

Do the rebuild yourself and save some money. I'm sure someone from your region is experienced and would be happy to help.

The basic rebuild kit's not too expensive and the majority of the time you'll just need new seals and not a complete new motor.

I am semi-close to you and can do the rebuild for you. IF you jsut want me to do the engine youre looking between $1000-1500, if you want me to remove/install it its closer to $2000. Let me know if I can help you.

Ummm...
I think you'll make it easier on everyone if you learn to spell, check your damn grammar, and hit the Caps key. I'm not a blue collar or anything, but I don't want to be reading a post 3 times just to figure out what some ************ was trying to say.

Here here... It's soooo much more pleasant to read a post if you just take the time to <quickly> check spelling, don't use caps, and not swear so much...

Thanks,
Manolis

Hey man.....Happy B-day.
Sorry for your loss.
Now u know what we meant by welcome to our world.
Since the motor is gone and before u shell out cash, ask your self if u want to rebuild and keep it N/A or for almost the same amount get a T2 motor to put in. Yes it might be more cuz of the added extras u will need but in the end if its some real get up an go u want then it'll be worth it.
