fuel injectors

I have a 86fc n/a and a 87 fc n/a I want to swap out the injectors from the 87 to the 86...The injectors in the 86 are leaking!!! Can I do this? Is there a difference between the two years? I have read that there are different fuel injectors between years...the injectors in the 87 are orange I don't remember what color they are in my 86...I will look and repost

The link you sent me was of no help..They say that the injectors for a 86-87 should be 460cc red with a part # of 195500-900 my injectors are orange with the part # 195500-1350 There are also injectors that share the same part #195500-1350. but they are purple and for a newer year???

86 till 88 are interchangeable on n/a's. they are all 460cc low impedance injectors

They should be interchangeable according to the chart.

86-87 13B NT low square center 460cc red 195500-1350

88 13B NT high square offset 460cc purple 195500-1350

They are different. Maybe the injectors you are trying to swap are not stock and were changed by the previous owner.

I dont know why you said that chart was useless.

Go look at the VIn number of your 87.
Look at the last 4 numbers.
If the last 4 numbers is below 7601, you can use your 87 injectors in your 86.
If the kast 4 numbers are above 7601, you cannot use the 87 injectors in your 86.

Incorrect.
Midway through 87, Mazda changed over to high impedance injectors, so 86-87.5 used low impedance, and 87.5-88 used high impedance.

Short from simply looking at the colour, the VIN check is the easiest.

Alright the last 4 # of the vin on the 87 are 5988 Both cars have the same orange top on the injectors..My Idea is to take the secondary injectors out of the 87 and place them as primary in the 86...

They will swap across then

Why not swap all four injectors from the 87 into the 86? How do you know for sure only the 86 primaries are leaking?

I don't have the TB gaskets right now.. so I can't pull the secondarys under the TB to replace them...I just thought that the secondarys hardley ever get used so I would run the 87 secondarys as primarys on the 86..
