Fuel Injector Grommets

I need your help again.............please

I am installing 4 new injectors with all new o-rings, lower and upper grommets, and injector air bleeds.

My question is this, I have inserted the top on the injector with the o-ring in the fuel rails, which fits very snuggly, but do the lower and upper rubber grommets set flush against the fuel rails, or are they supposed to go inside the rail itself too?

Thanx

Michael

Flush against the rail...technically it squeezes and seals the injector against the rail.

well on the bottom of all the injectors it goes air bleeds, then lower gromets (big looking o ring) then the injector of course pintle cap down. once the rail is bolted down it should be snug.

The upper grommet (not the o-ring) goes against the fuel rail. You will still be able to see it after you push the injector in. When you put the fuel rail back on it will be loose. I thought it should be tight but people let me know that the injector will twist. Seems strange to me. Looks like it should be tight or else the fuel will leak or air will be sucked in.

i wouldnt say it is loose ( if properly installed) snug is a better description of the way it should be.

Tight

Upon installing them and tightening the feul rails down, my grommets, especially on the secondaries are a little scrunched, and there are not loose.

Thanx

Michael
