Fuel gauge/sender question
My fuel level gauge is inaccurate, even a full tank shows as 3/4 full, makes me paranoid about the low end of things. I see that a new sender is available still but i’d like to maybe fix it. Going to get a gasket, pull the sender and check it’s Ohms readings. That’s all pretty well documented.
What I can’t find is, has any one used a decade box to confirm the in-dash portion of the gauge before?
Also, I noticed you can get fuel level sensor screw. I don’t see anything in the manual about calibrating the sensor itself. Is this just the fasteners for the assembly itself? Or is there some adjustability to the arm(other than bending it)?
Honestly, I suspect a good cleaning may be all that it needs, I’d just like to know a little more before I pull it.

Yes, I have. I actually checked 3 units back to back on my bench last month. None of the gauges were within spec, per my recollection. And from testing these cluster in general the inaccuracies are not typically linear. You can manually index the needles and split the difference in most cases.
