fuel cut question

hey got a question for you guys. what can cause fuel cut other then over boosting?? im currently running a n370 ecu, NF01 afm and map sensor, w/ full exhaust. i plugged in my *knight sports FCBD* (FCD) and it didn't do ****.

i also swapped with my friends n370 afm, map sensor and ecu ( it was a k's tune thingy but correct ecu) all it did was make my car run at a better afr. Im still hitting fuel cut at 5k @ 10psi . with either ecu and sensors w/the FCBD plugged in.
i have a wideband installed car is running good. stays at 10psi with ported wastegate, and i got bigger secondaries im putting in. just trying to figure out why im hitting fuel cut..

bad FCBD? or is there something else that can contribute to fuel cut?

thanks,
Ricky

Did you buy the FCD used? If so, then you you either have a bad FCD or an FCD that was designed for an S5 if you have an S4 of visa versa.

I always recommend to anyone that asks that you should never buy a used FCD. There is just no way of telling if it's good until after you own it. At least you found out by testing rather then running with it and finding out after a blown engine.

yeah its probably bad. i bought it used and it is for the s5. thats why i used my friends sensors to try it.

is it true that no restrictor pill in the vacuum line to my map/boost pressure sensor will cause fuel cut?

The pill in the MAP sensor line is just to smooth out pressure changes.

If you at hitting fuel cut at 10 psi, your MAP signal is screwy for one reason or another & the FCD isn't doing what it's supposed to. You're supposed to hit fuel cut at 8.6 psi, and obviously not hit it at all with an FCD.

well damn that sucks. my gauge isn't digital so it is possible im saying 10 and its actually at 8.6psi. however i guess i got screwed with a bad FCD.

just wanted to know if there was anything else that could cause. Thanks guys!!

the map sensor / pressure boost sensor thingy is NF01 from the cosmo motor. i was just saying that both sensors are for the cosmo.

update: i ported my wastegate last night. i am now only hitting 6psi, but i cant rev past 5k. it doesnt sound like a rev limiter anymore, and my AFR gauge is showing 17. I am very lean. Is it possible that the problem is something as simple as my fuel pump sock is clogged and dirty? or is it my secondary injectors.

Its not a rev-limit anymore it just stops there. You can actually hear the car start to slow down around 4k rpms and it just stay at 5k rpms; there is no bouncing and popping like fuel cut. this is at WOT only.

thanks for any help !

is your secondary injectors working???

I had a similiar problem last year when installing a new engine. The pigtails for the secondary injector came off.....I couldnt boost more then 5psi and it wouldnt go more than 4.5k rpm

I'm not boosting more then 5psi ether. Is there a way to test if your secondary injectors are working? I installed some Sard 850's right before my rebuild and I'm wondering if there the problem.
