Fuel Cap

I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be bad to drive around without a fuel filler cap on? I was just reading my manual...It says take it out to depressureive the system. I ran over mine a couple of weeks ago. Is this bad to be driving without one??

Yes it's bad that you drive without it.

The only damage is loss of gas fumes which equals less miles per tank. Hot day = more loss. If you have a full tank you can lose some gas on take off and left turns.

Oh, and it would be bad if someone smoked next to your car.
