FTO or RX??

Hey, ive been lurking around this forum for around a while now, but just recently i have the opportunity to buy a car, either a Mitsubishi FTO or a 7, problem is I dunno which now. I know that the 7 is a one of the most pure sports cars around, though it has its problems and can be costly, reliability is my main concern. Although the FTO is FWD it is meant to be one of the best handling sports cars along with the 7, it also puts out around 150kw, and I think apporx 15's or 16's down the 1/4 mile. What im asking you guys to do is basically to help me with my decision, keep in mind I would be buying a N/A RX. With the FTO i would be purchasing the GPX Mivec model and in a Manual (Stick)...

Thanks in advance.

Its a hard choice for me. The FTO's been one of my favorite FF sport cars for awhile now and a nice combo IMO with the 2.0L V6 putting out 200hp(?) I believe and 8krpm redline But the front wheel drive does hinder potential performance (if only mitsubishi would have made it RWD)

But seeing as I do have an NA FC now and if you were to offer me the choice, after much consideration, id go with the FC.

Yes, if only RWD i reckon it would be sooo much more popular

From what I can tell, the current Eclipse is more related to the FTO than the previous generation of the Eclipse.
Hard to say which is preferable. Personally, I wouldn't mind an FTO (if it was the only one in the country! ).

I dont have personal experience with the FTO but have checked out a couple articles on them, none mentioning any critical problems of the FTO. There were one or two slight problems, I'll post my findings when im home.

I love the funky styling of the FTO. I wish we had gotten that instead of the 3rd gen eclipse. Would have been nice if Mitsu had taken a hint from Gran Turismo and offered an AWD version... I loved my AWD FTO in Gran Turismo (GT1 I think it was that I had it)

Wow...that's an unusual decision to make. Usually somone is like MR2, Silvia, etc. It's cool you have that choice, I'm obviousl gonna say the 7, but I LOVE the FTO too. Since you have no rotary techs out there I'd go with the FTO then unless you like to work on your own car (I always have ). What color FTO?? Which model???

Yeh theat one of the good things about the FTO, I think just about the only problem with them is that the passenger side central locking motor fails sometimes and wont open, just needs replacing...
What color FTO?? Which model???
I dunno what colour! whatever i can get with a manual trans, and in the GPX modle with Mivec

at this point in time i am personally leaning towards the FTO.

The 3rd gen is a very nice car but isnt it like the most unreliable of all the RX7s?

FTO.. sounds like a car a ricer in AUS would get. I say FD, but you'll probably be more happy with an FTO. The 3rd gen can be very unreliable.. Do the reliability mods, and treat it like a baby. Oh yea, if you're going to get the FTO.. you might as well get the 200hp version.

Like I said.. my '87 FC and '93 FD can both be somewhat reliable in my opinion.. but w/o a rotary shop I think you would be much better off with the FTO.
