Question Front wheel spacer options???

I need to run a 8-10 mm wheel spacer up front on my 1990 Turbo. (after market wheels) is there a part number/ source for longer wheel studs?

HELP!

thanks,

This place sells spacers with studs built into them. If youre going to do hard driving like autox, road racing or any other driving that involves hard turns, keep in mind that spacers can crack, mess up your original wheel studs, and mess up your wheel bearings. If youre gonna drag race or just cruise around then I guess theyre cool. Do a search for spacers and you will find good/bad info on them.

8mm to 10mm isn't that much.&nbsp Mr. Gasket (Moroso?) makes SAE sized wheel spacers for about $15 a pair.&nbsp Widths should be in the 1/8" to 5/16" range...

Oops sorry - got too much dumbasses I'm dealing with on here, and I'm tired - need to take a nap before the GP of San Marino starts in 9 hours!

ARP makes longer studs for GM vehicles that just happen to match the FC stud thread size - 12mmX1.5!&nbsp Any domestic V8 shop that carries ARP stuff can get them for you.

did ARP ever come out with tenson bolts? I saw somewhere awhile ago that were going to make some.

don't know if they'd make any difference. people seem to love their head bolts though.

Personally, I don't know what the big deal is about stronger tension bolts; the tension bolts do not fail - the housings do.&nbsp Stronger tension bolts are not going to solve anything.&nbsp If you really want stronger (thicker) tension bolts, so steal a set off of a Cosmo (20B?) motor...there was some picture on the web that showed significant thickness differences.

I dont know about this being fact or not since I havent seen it in writing. But if you go to a local SCCA event to run your car they dont allow spacers because they will crack in time and that makes them dangerous. I would recomend getting the proper sized rims for your car not something that will just fit.

SCCA allows spacers in road racing, don't know why they wouldn't in an autocross. A spacer won't crack any more readily than a wheel and won't introduce anymore leverage on the hub/wheel bearings than the same amount of wheel offset. The only concern in and of itself is the bolts loosening.

The part numbers for ARP Wheel studs 12mm x 1.5 / 68mm long is 100-7708. You can also try your local GM dealer and look for part # 22551491. The Arp Studs are about a $1 more tham the Gm studs.
