Front shaft bolt not budging, any ideas??

Like title states, Im in the middle of a tear down and I never thought that the front bolt was that hard.... now I got one rotor, and a housing out, but im stuck with the intermediate plate, front housing, and front plate... and cant remove it... so my question is, which way do I turn the front bolt in order to loosen it???? left or right?? I tried everything, even with a impact gun, and shattered a seal in the mean time, please help....

And oh, it's NOT reverse thread. It comes off just like a normal bolt would.

if it is an e-shaft bolt an impact wrench should get it off with not too much difficulties.

HEAT. Even with my 600 ft-lb reverse impact (rated @ 90psi) being driven at 160psi, it won't come off of some engines, without heat. A small propane torch will work, but a hotter map or oxyacetylene setup will work quicker. That thing is loctited in there, so you must melt the loctite to release it's bond.

Heat it for 10 minutes and it'll come right off.

I agree with kevin (although I have only used MAP gas torch to loosen the really stuck ones).

I used a 6 ft breaker bar and that took some effort. Heat would have made it easier.

Hey man thanks, that **** worked like a charm.... but I found out bad news when I removed the int. plate, there was an apex seal wedged between the rotor and the housing, which fuked up 2 of the apex seal housing, or cavity... is there any way to machine it back withing spec???

Youll probably need a rotor and housing replacment. There is no fix for the housing...the rotor, can SOMETIMES be machined out for 3mm seals.

You can post pics here, but nobody can tell you for sure unless they are experienced with rebuilding rotaries. Someone needs to see it up close to tell you.

no.... but thats the least of my fukin worries... I just got a 1100 motor that is pretty much junk right now.... 3 broken seals, missing springs, fuked up rotors, and fuked up housings... good thing they fronted me some housings, and kevin I appreciate everything, but how much would you charge for another 90 rotor and me giving you this one???

I really don't need a junk rotor...I'd trade you 2 s4 rotors plus appropriate front ctwt for your good s5 rotor. I sell s5 rotors for $200 shipped out the door.
