have an issue after getting a stubborn front rotor off, needed to be pressed out in the end ...I didn't pound on the rotor that hard but now have another problem I'm trying to figure out..assembling the brake makes the rotor bind on the top outer part of the caliper casting which is a tight space to begin with..thought it was the new rotor but the old one now does the same thing.runout is good on the hub and new rotor with a dial indicator.... being .001" on the hub and .003" on the rotor/hub assembly... but rotor hub assembly seems slightly canted in relation to the caliper casting and bind on the top outer portion of the caliper when bolted down.I can't see bending the spindle,would a bearing cause that? there is no play, I didn't pull the inner bearing as the seal would need to be replaced.so I just pulled the hub off and reinstalled it... seems to have seated itself and had it on and off to reseat a few times to make sure , no difference..the only thing I'm leaning on at the moment is the inner bearing...anybody run across this....I'm stuck and need this sorted quickly...thanks

It's got to be something in the bearing/race assembly that's out of whack. Probably good that you are seeing it as that would probably lead to a pretty quick failure of that wheel bearing if it's out like that.

I agree, the spindle would be damn near impossible to bend. Or, something is keeping the rotor from sitting flat on the hub and it's cocked one way or the other. But, if that's the case, you would see the rotor wobble as you spun it.

Is the knuckle bent after being on the press? I've seen it happen and the caliper won't bolt back on straight.

This is what i think the problem was ...as I picked up another knuckle/hub and just bolted the caliper/rotor to see if the piece I got was good, which it is...haven't broken it down yet to try my hub. but it had a .001" of runout so I'm thinking it's the spindle...car at one time was curbed hard on that wheel..as clearance was tight before on that outer/upper caliper casting on that side of the car...I don't think the hub was pressed crooked as it pressed fairly straight...but in trying to take it off on the car..I only had a 6 inch 2 jaw puller so it was difficult to pull it straight without it going off center..probably out of frustration I wasn't being careful enough and loading the tip of the spindle off center..so I'm gathering it's a combination of prior curbing plus a bad move using an inferior puller exasperating the bent spindle ..appreciate all the input. so the moral is to be carefull and press the rotors out ...cheers

Well, what i wrote was partially B.S. as bolting my hub on the new spindle caused the same problem..but bolting the new hub on my spindle worked but the rotor is still very close to the caliper casting..so the spindle must be slightly out also..looking at my hub closer and cleaning out all the grease revealed the inner bearing race is not seated/bottomed out totally on the hub step all the way and slightly cocked in the seat.hub has almost no runout so I don't think it's bent..replaced both.
