Not sure about the o-ring, but do you have a way of keeping your OMP? It used a different pump than your S5, and without your electric OMP, it will make your car run in "limp mode" It probably wouldnt be that big of a hastle to find a used S5 NA front cover for cheap. Try browsing the For Sales or put up a WTB add.

i need to install a s5 into a 74 repu iam either getting an rtek or just keeping the OMP intact just removed and set out of the way and premixing both options let you take off the OMP with no limp mode

I believe all 12A and 13B front covers will bolt up, but not sure how the O ring will fit. The S5 has the retainer that hits in the front iron, and I believe pre-S5 have just the O-ring.

My educated guess says that you would use the S5 o-ring assembly and no front cover gasket. Shave down the o-ring and Teflon retainer until the retainer is flush with the boss on the front iron, and the o-ring is slightly above the retainer.
