Angry Front Pully bolt

My front pulley bolt just dropped out of the engine at idle.....wtf?!? This isn't gonna screw up the timing and all the good stuff when I put it back in is it?
thanks

It should have dumped all your oil pressure and done a job on the engine bearings. If the pulley did not move outward I doubt it screwed the timing and theres a good chance the thrust bearings are still in place. See Mazdatrix faq for an interesting bit of insite on the thrust bearings. You can make a measurement at the front pulley to see if they have moved. Its in the factory manual and the Haynes manual. It'll be under engine assy. Follow the instructions for installation. The fsm recommends using a sealant upon installation

As long as the key didn't fall out with it you will be fine. the ket keeps everything in line I don't see anything going wrong with the trust bearing at idle.

Uh, no, the key doesn't keep one of the Torrington needle bearings in place - the spacer does.&nbsp I've destroyed one motor cause the bearing popped off - don't ask...
