Front plate position and overheating risks

Hello
The front plate on my 1991 FC Convertibile S5 Turbo 2 is in the same position of the photo attached.
The plate protudes to cover 1/4 of the bumper air intake.

I would like to know if there is a risk of overheating.
Should i reposition the plate a little upper?

Thank you.

You will be fine. I run a front plate and have no issues. Just make sure you are using the stock fan shroud if you still have your stock clutch fan operating, it aids in cooling.

But regarding the plate in this position: why won't it reduce the airflow through the front bumper?

most of the air will just flow around it. It will affect it somewhat, but not enough to matter. I'd recommend tilting it inward on the bottom to direct more air in there if you're worried.

I block off the entire front of my car with an fmic, and engine temps still hold at about 81C running around ******* it in 85F temps outside at 30psi of boost.

I mount my plate with some zip ties through the bumper
