Front Lip~

Hi, i'm new to this forum. Actually new to RX-7's, i drive an AE86 GTS. I was looking at some of the FC pics and notice some had front lip spoilers and some don't. Is that a factory option part or an aftermarket part? Or only TurboFC have them? Thanks

Whats up cuzzo.
The 89+ have a small front lip. (slightly different front bumper).

Kind of like the AE86 GTS has that little lip that the SR5 doesnt.

So when are you going to convert from 4AGE to 13B?

no way, convert to 20B! that's a sick video if you've never seen it... 600HP hachiroku... how much does one of those weigh?

BTW, there is a cool front lip available for not much money, do a search for "front splitter"

Haha

TwinCam13BT thanks for answering my question.
Haha. Converting the 4AGE for a 13B will cost alot! But one of my hardcore AE86 friends told me he saw an AE86 with that conversion and that thing flew!! It can even go faster then a 911 in the track!! Crazy, but that guy spend like all his life saving on doing that conversion LOL. I don't got no cash for that.
Actually the stock AE86 GTS is already fast. 130hp for a car that weighs less or as much as a CRX and with RWD!! I saw some guy in the race track beat a Integra Type-R with just cam and intake mod. Not much to add hp but that guy really know how to drive. hehe~
Gene, yea i have seen that video before. It's insane!! That car is the ultimite sleeper. LOL
Anyways enough AE86 talk. I got some other questions that i would like to ask too. I was thinking of getting a FC. There was one for sale for about $3500cdn, and it's 1990 N/A FC with 199,000kms on it (about 120,000m). You guys think it's a good price? I can probably talk the price down a few hundreds too, it's privite sale. And also what should i look for that might be a problem when buying a FC? Thanks for your time~

What up,
That sounds like a good deal. Just make sure it starts up ok when cold and warm. Smell for any fuel under the hood. **** like that...

I think you'll like the FC. I cant say that the FC is better than the AE86 though, I have both and theyre dope cars.

Look into a Turbo2 if you have the money/time.

i'm not too sure on turbo cars and drifting (i'm guessing thats the kind of racing you do) i personally think n/a's are the way to go when drifting. if you do want a force fed 7 get a supercharger for that ******. then you have enough tork to break the wheels loose w/o using the e-brake.

The AE86 is the #1 drift car... and it has about 23 ft/lbs of torque. A real drift doesnt need to break the tires loose, thats more like a muscle car power slide. Real drifting, you just SWANG IT! with the right clutch/throttle treatment.

#1 drift car = Caprice Classic!! All black with 22" wire wheels, 4 TV's and 3 15"s in the trunk!

Heh, there was a guy and his wife at autox one time with an old-school lincoln town car, he was the drift king for the day. He and his wife also picked up second worst time and worst time of the day in that boat...

As for the hachi, there's a guy who shows up to my region with a red one with big fender flares, a hardcore suspension setup and very little on the engine, and he is FAST. I think he has a good shot at time of the day as long as no A-MOD cars show up...
