Front fender damaged, repair/replace?
Last night this girl backed into me as I was entering a parking lot. Completely oblivious (and didn't have her drivers license on her ). So now my front driver's side fender is crumpled. It looks like it can probably be beaten out, maybe.
So the question is, should I get it repaired or should I replace it? Parts are somewhat hard to find, and a replacement would have to be painted. I could use some advice if anyone has some. Her insurance should help out with cost, I am wondering how well the original fender can be repaired, i.e. will it match the other side, have the same smooth surface, etc.
I would much rather have this happen repeatedly than have something happen to my baby.

IMO your better off replacing the fender. It's a pain in the *** to fix them to perfection. Check out the for sale section for fenders. Also think about the cost and time of repairing the crumpled up fender. I would rather sit and polish aluminum pieces for hours than have to uncrumple a fender again.

Fenders are easy to come by. The same thing happened to me. I bought a parts car for $150 (you can probably find a fender for 75-100) and I had it painted by a really repuatable shop. Since my cars paint is perfect, I wanted it to match perfect. It cost 200 bucks for paint. but.. its match's pefectly. They had some machine that calculated the exact paint mixture. Worked awesome. If I were you, Id go that route. Its the right way to do it.

Thanks everyone. I didn't think it could be repaired without using body filler, which I really don't want on my car. I may have to go for the replacement.
