front cover and oil pan

front cover and oil pan

can I take my front cover off without hoisting the engine and totaly removing the oil pan?

Yes..

Keep pressure on the clutch to hold the torrington thrust bearing from dropping out of position.

When you re-assemble it, use a short tube in the oil hole in the front iron that supplies the MOP, to keep the sealant from blocking the hole.

You do have to remove the front row of oil pan bolts.

i took the front 5 bolts out. The pan seal was well done i guess.
on a side note, i found a hole in the front cover by the oil cooler line

Was the front cover sealed with a gasket or sealant?

Gaskets can get really bonded..

got it off, the gasket sucks it wasnt sealed properly in 4!!! spots.
