Front Bolt
Front Bolt
So i'm trying to get the front bolt off so i can change the front seal. I can't get the stupid thing loose?
I'm thinking about taking the dust cover off of the the flywheel and jamming a a crowbar down there and using a breaker bar to get it loose. The only thing is that i'm worried about breaking something around the flywheel.
So what do you guys things? And before you mention using a impact wrench, i've already given that a shot and broke a socket.
If you guys think that the breaker bar is a bad idea then i'll get another socket and go back at it with the impact wrench.

If the engine is still in the car, you should be aware of the needle bearings up on the e-shaft falling out of place when that front bolt is loosened. Read the writeup on the Mazdatrix site.
I've heard of some guys putting the breaker bar with socket on the frame and cranking the engine for a split second to break it loose...
I don't know if a crowbar is gonna work very well, because it will only contact one tooth on the flywheel, and if you break the tooth you're going to have a whole new set of problems on your hands. Mazdatrix sells the flywheel locking tool (compact version) which sits on 2 or 3 teeth, and I've used it, but with the engine out of the car. I don't even know if you could get it installed with the engine in, but I would think you could.
Sorry I can't give you a magic answer
