not sure about other people's experience but when I removed my broken rear antenna the only radio I get now is a few AM stations. I figured since I don;'t listen to the radio it isnt a big deal but now I am looking to get a manual antenna I can just have in the down postion cause the motorized one in the stuck up position looked pretty rough.

One is main antenna, and will work most of the time, the other only comes in when your main isn't getting as good of reception
I think thats how it works, I'll search for a thread I saw a couple months back about it, kinda interesting.
But I guess just front would work if you had them both hooked up and all. I believe they're both for AM/FM Radio Reception

no problem. maybe theres a way to rig the rear antenna to only come on when the radio is turned on and go down when its turned off, i know its like that on some cars, then use the front for alarm pager

that's the way it works on the stock deck. on my cd deck it would always go up even for a cd. so I just left it disconnected. don't listen to the raido anyways. that's what cd burners are for

I mean just the radio, cause I sure as hell will have mostly CDs instead of garbage radio.
And probly not gonna have stock stereo. Well for long if I can get another har har.
But anyways, in the thread I linked a couple people said they thought it was for AM only like older cars that had them, but one unhooked the rear anenna and got same stations. Anyways I don't see why it would be AM only unless it was meant to be (via the stock stereo) I'm sure it can pick up AM and FM

With the car off, pull the antenna fuse and figure it out yourself...

IMO, no the front antenna is not sufficent, but maybe you live somepalce flat without hills and buildings and trees and rocks.
