friends TAC is dying
the tacometer dies at random times. to get it working again i have to turn the car off and restart it. the car still works fine with the tac off. originally was accompanied by stalling or misfiring. adjusting the TPS fixeds that problem though.
if it matters there is a custom audio system installed(subs / amp / ect...)

1st of all, its a tach!! 2nd, its probably just your gauges, mine have never worked right. one by one they fail, and apparently, this is not unusual. so i just get new gauges and put them in varous places!

tacometer.....
lol... I don't know, I kinda like "tacometer".
I remember reading somewhere about a weak starter affecting the tach. Some wierd electrical connection. May be something else to look into.

Just make sure that the engine ground to chassis is still good. When I installed my stereo I eventually got a problem with the charging system and when the power would get too low the tach would start acting up and would quit. It turned out to be a fried ground wire that attatched to the firewall. So I would just check to make sure that all the battery cables and especially the ground cables are OK.
