fresh rebuild wont stay on!!!

im having an issue with my new rebuild, itwill not idle at all....it whistles in between revs now that i swapped the TB and UIM, i had a throttle body before that didnt whistle but it didnt seem to get the car going at all!!! i have got the car to stay alive but its still rough even when trying to keep it alive....rpm jump to 3k rpms right away i cannot keep them in between unless by coincidence...

YES i have searched and found this thread but i wasnt too sure i wanted to revive such an old thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...+manifold+idle

its a GXL, streetported 13bt using NA s4 rotors, using the NA wiring harness and all T2 electronic components: ecu, maf, pressure sensor, intercooler, s4 ported turbo....
it has 660 secondaries and a walbro 255 fuelpump...

i will post a video up soon... thanks.

That is pretty weird my friend....did you check your fuel pump to make sure the sound wasn't coming from that? The idle could be a vacuum leak.

check in between the TB and your "elbow"(you know that rubber triangular seal,in between the elbow and the TB?)..it sounds like a Vac leak for sure.
I'd be checking all vacuum areas.just to be sure.

ill check, but i think the Mani is just hanging over i have the intercooler bracket but maybe it is causing stress on the LIM to UIM gasket... i didnt use rtv i just threw in the gaskets because i didnt want to keep having to remove the manifolds and mess up new gaskets every time i removed the manifold.... i will look into it for now, i kinda figured that it wouldn't make a leak if i didn't add sealant....

misterstyx69, it was the elbow that u had said. i took the UIM/the tb and the wlbow on the tb off and pressurized it with a pipe and sure enough it as leaking through the elbow, making the whistle....

but that JUST fixed the whistle not the car has a hard time staying on....starts up fine and stays on for a a minute or so, and just cuts off, could it be the thermowax pellet? or what could it be?

OKAY, now the car stays on but only stays on and idles nicely when started COLD, it will stay on untill i give it gas, then it dies. after it dies, it doesnt want to start again, unless i keep it alive.

like f a vacuum leak is created when the car gets warm/hot..
could it be the thermowax??? becuase it idles nicely then when i give it a light rev or a heavy rev itll die....TPS is at .99 to 1.01 it varies. all vacumms have nipples or they have a line on them...i need help guys... this is frustating its been almost a month since ive gotten the engine back from the shop.....

thanks.

use the adjustment screws on the dynamic chamber and throttle body

go through the fsm on how to set the idle.

4B page 80 of fuel/emissions turbo..

make sure your neutal switch is hooked up

The idle adjust screw on top of the Dynamic Chamber is not related to the emissions equipment.

It might, but the adjust screw is surrounded by the Dynamic Chamber and is not to be confused w/the secondary plate adjust screw on the very front of the throttle body.

You said it was a fresh rebuild correct? Well you are going to have a hard time keeping it below 1K untill it has got a few hours of run time on it, get it where it is idling around 1200-1500 and let is idle for a hour or so, checking for leaks and watching the coolant temp.

It should start running better after time, but another video would be nice.

I don't have a pic right now, but you can also increase the idle a little by righting the throttle cable witch in turn will open the throttle up.
