Thumbs up Free Headlight Conversion!!

I wanted to tell you guys about this since alot of people
on here are looking for a fixed (non pop-up) headlight conversion kit. So here is what I have got for you=

My headlight relay is broken, so the computer recognizes their is a problem with the lighting system, so it orders the headlights to pop-up, and stay there- even when the lights are off so it looks stupid. So what you I is remove the fuse that controls the extractor motor, screw the headlights down using the ***** under the car to return them to the down position. But you guys- luckily probably dont have the relay prob, so Your headlights go down when theyre not on. Keep em down like this:
1) Pop the hood
2) insert the hood prop rod
3)open fuse box located near driver side shock twr.
4)remove the 30A fuse on the right marked extractor
5)put it in your center console!!
6)replace lid
7)close the hood
8)start your car
9)turn on your lights
10)stand in front of your car and smile

It's that easy and looks mean as hell. No more gay-*** dopey lookin rectangles- the headlight shines through the FTP lens. Like it does when you flash someone during the day. I live in MO and sometimes need to pop the fuse back in to get full headlights but most of the time I can see fine with the headlights down, and just my driving lights. Its that damn easy- pull the fuse, and tell me what you think.

Then you add some 55 watt projector style driving lights to the outside corner of the brake ducts and wire them as daytime running lights.

i just hooked up a relay so i can flip a swtich and have low beams on wether the lights are up or down. this also keeps the lows on when you turn on the highs for extra light

all I know is that alot of people have read this but not responded. I think no doubt this is the easiest upgrade you can do to your lights/frontend for free. Everyone that owns a S4 or S5 owes it to themselves, their families, their cars to try this and see how swet it really is. AND THEN POST A REPLY!:AR:

i like my FTP lenses so i leave those in. i just have the sleepy-eye look for mine. ill build a real kit later that uses 4 round driving lights later to have a good looking headlight mod.

I liked the FTP lenses, but the one on the passenger side broke and I haven't replaced it.

This is not an upgrade! If you think your headlights are capable of putting even half as much light on the road like this, you’re deluding yourself. It severely reduces the range and spread of the headlights, and yes, I have proven this for myself. Why anyone would want to perform a mod that reduces their ability to see clearly at night is completely beyond me. Dumb idea. Just my opinion.
And your headlights are not computer controlled; you just have a faulty light switch. This is a common FC problem. Replace the light switch.

1) I have replaced the light switch.
2) It looks better with the headlights down.
3) I can see fine at night because I have driving lights.
4) This is an appearance upgrade, not a dillusion.
No one can say that cheesey headlight bezel when the lights are up looks good!! or say that 80's rectangle headlight looks appealing. The headlight looks better coming through the FTP lens. If you need to see better- Pop the fuse back in and your lights come
up. But I can see fine. i only pop lights up when Ive been drinking to reduce chances of getting pulled over in the wee AM hours. anyways.

So? Headlights that work properly are more important than looks.
3) I can see fine at night because I have driving lights.
So you blind oncoming drivers with narrow beam driving lights instead. Well done...
4) This is an appearance upgrade, not a dillusion.
Appearance “upgrades” should not come at the expense of something as important as night vision. And I didn’t say it was a delusion, I said you’re deluded. Quite different.

I don’t understand why these lights bother so many people. If you don’t want 80’s styling, don’t buy an 80’s car...

I’ve never resorted to name-calling on this forum before, but what you’ve just said confirms that you are a ******* moron. I hope your incredibly irresponsible actions only kill yourself and not some innocent motorist.

This trick is old news.
That said, the only practical use i see for this is during dusk at the strip where the pop-ups might rob you a 1mph or so.

Wouldn't turning off the popup affect your cars ability to acually light in front of you ? Be careful

as for "sleepy eye" headlight "conversions" ...
IMO...

Anyone who drives a seven while drunk should be dragged out into the street and shot.
WilTaylor, you DO NOT DESERVE that car... THE RX-7 deserves BETTER THAN DUMBA$$ES LIKE YOU!!!!!

Please, Please, Please never drive again... I think it would probably be a good idea to turn your licence in now.... sell ALL your vehicles too (this includes your bike) and stick to walking....
People like you SHOULD NOT DRIVE.... EVER!

(sorry for the rant.... I know ppl who have been killed by drunk drivers... )

One question. Is this legal? I mean you ARE cutting the amount of light put out by over 50%....

Hey guys another cool *** mod is to remove the headlights completely! These things are kind heavy so you can save some weight to compensate for the 100 lbs of speakers you put in your car. And besides seeing at night is SOOO overated.

just want to say, i like low profile 4 round blub popup headlights, but they better come damn near close to the visibility i get with factory headlights, or else i may as well just drive the car during the day. and what fun is that? oh well...everyone is free to opinionate, but drinking and driving is full of ****! i too have friends who died from drunk drivers.
