Hopefully his bill won't leave you too much more broke But as long as it gets you back and forth to work, I guess it's worth it. Definitely hard to make it these days w/ no wheels.

Good call on the housing. Didn't even notice that. No oil injector = very old.

He should have been running premix. Keep in mind there is another oil injector in the lower intake but Mazda installed two for a reason.

Seriously, this engine is a mutt of questionable lineage and is not worth using. Take it apart and sell the pieces off...

You quoted me, yet you didn't read it. I pointed out the sleeves were missing already.

Something I noticed was that the ACV is on the front where the OMP should be, not above the exhaust. I am interested to hear if this runs or not. Post a vid when you get it up.

That would be the S5 style electronic metering oil pump, not the ACV.

Dude ive got the same motor and cant figure out wtf its from either!
Info on mine, appears to have same unusual center iron with what appears to be factory drilled holes on paseenger side for osme kind of side motor mount, Also the primary runners are shorter than a 2nd gen 13b's just like that first guys pictures

both my housings have oil metering holes like an s4, and have no exhaust sleeves. i have an s4 front cover on mine.

what doesnt make sence is the odd passenger motor mount holes , DO GSL-SE have the 4 bolt holes on the ehxuast side of the engine??

wit

is it posible this is from a mid 80s cosmo 6 port motor from japan? i ended up fabbing up a custom motor mount bracket for the passenger side and its been in my car for a while.

ya i am running the motor in my picture in my 86 sport. Currently it is running in a 6 port turbo setup. unfortunitly while this motor had good compression it does have a bad coolent seal, i found out shorty after droping it in.
it still runs but over pressureizes the coolent system, so it gets low on water and over heats after an hr or so of driving.

it required some modification of the turbo manifold to clear where that unsual raised 4 bolt hole area on the passenger side of the center iron, and some custom fabbing of a motor mount bracket.

yes i used the bolt holes on the pass side of block coupled with a custom fabed bracket i made.

its actually only using the bottom two bolt holes, as the stock turbo manifold hits where the top two bolt holes are, so i had to grind the upper ones away ( LOL i know seems crazy), but an na header does fit w/o modification., but i was going turbo.

besides the mount, i treated this block the same as any typical s4 na block.
