found an s4 gxl with s5 turbo 2 need advice
I found an s4 gxl with an s5 turbo 2 drivetrain swap. The only things that are needed to finish it are wiring and a driveshaft. I ahve heard that it is harder to wire an s5 engine into an s4 care? are parts hard to find for the s5?

There are many series swaps that never get finished because the re-wiring process is such a pain in the ***. If this will be your first RX-7, don't buy it. You'll need to study the S4 & S5 wiring diagrams in depth to even begin to understand what all has to change. It's a hell of a lot.
If you do buy it, a better option would be to get all S4 TII electronics, manifolds, front cover, etc...and swap it all onto the S5 short block. It'll end up being far easier, since it will basically become a S4 NA -> S4 TII swap.

I dunno Rotary. He might be able to get it dirt cheep since its not running. The driveshasft will have to be aftermarket though. Theres PLENTY of info on the series swap. If you have patience then I say go for it. http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...o_s4_swap.html

^^^^^Yup....run away from it and do a within series swap. Much easier.
Find a clean shell preferably with a blown engine, and contact japan2la for a jspec engine swap.

The OP was referring to trying to pull off the rewiring of all the S4 harnesses to mate up to the S5 electronics, which is the true "series swap." That's the one you want to stay away from. It's a ton of work.
