Well this shop is in montreal and I haven't heard even ONE good feedback about them
they tried to sell something like 3 blown 13B-RE to one of my friend saying they were allright...
the poor's man compression test solved the problem...
SO be careful with them

I've come across their site in my search for a Jspec. Definitely a good price, but I was planning on rebuilding the engine anyway, so it wouldn't matter much to me if the compression was bad. I wouldn't put ANY used engine in my car without rebuilding it first.
$650, plus another $600 for a rebuild kit, and you'd still be getting an engine for less than what some other Jspec sellers are asking.

It's not totally uncommon to get jspec rotaries that are already blown. Not just low compression...blown...zero compression. Internal damage to rotor and housing. Thus making the rebuild about 400 dollars more expensive than a basic seal kit. This is not the rule, but I've seen it several times.
Bottom line, jspecs are either really clean, or really shitty, there isn't usually much of an in-between.

I got two 13BT Longblocks with trannies for $1000... SHIPPED! to my front door.
The company stated the second motor had low compression, but i was going to use both motors for parts anyway.
I've pretty much made my money's worth with the motors.
The company is www.Japanstarmotor.com
I don't beleive they have the motors listed on the website, you will have to contact them directly.
Im in the meantime, finishing the rebuild..

Why would you want the wiring anyways, prolly couldnt even use it w/o extending the harness. One thing that Is usually good on the jspec's are the plugs. The ones I've seen are almost brand new....
And dont always count on low or no comp motors for just a core. You prolly gunna end up needing extra parts, not just a rebuild kit.

650 sounds about right realy + shiping. probly guarenteed rebuild. The bad thing is if it is not blown what if coolant seals are gone? Now you have rusty irons and your set back more $$$ then intended.
I succesfully rewired my JDM harness with little issues what so ever and found it no big deal to use. I unwraveld the entire harness and re loomed it and removed all emishions from it and untangled th factory crossed wires that they jumbled all up. I had to exstend the intake temp sensor and engin temp wire. The temp wire has to be respliced into the harness anyways to work. had to run exiter wires. Last but not least my JDM harness did not come with windshield wiper motor in it. So I cut clip from a my junk car and rewired it to the harness. The bigest thing here is you have to pull the UIM off vac rack and all that stuff. And you should anyways to replace all the lines or do nest removal.
