Found this gauge cluster on ebay, and got an idea. What do you think?

Okay, I saw this cluster and it gave me an idea. Would it be possible to fit some aftermarket gauges into the original cluster? I wonder what size these holes are, and if they could be bored out w/o hitting the speedo. Would the removal of the gauge affect the ECU. Maybe its just me, but I dont want all that wasted space in my dash, and I dont want to have to add more clusters than I have to....

I kinda like the look of the stock guages myself. Too much rigging to replace all the guages with aftermarket ones. If you do buy that one, buy the lens cover. I think its around 30 bucks. That one looks all nasty.

it looks like you're going to have to cut throught the PCB to fit a gauge in.. maybe 1.5" thickness there.. might be able to do it

I know of several racers who don't even bother with the guage cluster at all, so I don't think it affects drivablity any. but in that case, why not just fab up a CF surround for a new set of guages, instead of trying to fit it into the stock guage cluster.

Wow, I'm famous. I will try to take a new picture now that it is finished. All of the guages are installed and it is sealed together.
