Yeah I agree. After 3 years of working on my 10thAE, it is near stock but with some modifications that drop the value in a purists eye.

For example even though it is the stock Chrystal White, it has been re-painted. The motor has been rebuilt with some minor tweaks to the throttle body, Turbo, and it is using a RX-8 torsen rear end.

Yet I have hand rebuilt it back. Personally spraying and hand sanding each layer of paint, purchasing countless new parts (I have paid more in new replacement parts than what I paid for the car when I got it, 20 times over). Clear coating the paint with a superior Urethane, tracking down the OEM bronze tinted windows, etc

It will never sell for what I spent and put into it, and it probably never will even be as fast as my RX-8. But I know all that right now. I know that if I put it on sale, I wouldn't get half as much as I spent (not even including labor). It is simply for the love of the car and the feeling of hand restoring and assembling it.
