Found a convertible RX

Hi.
I'm new to the forum and I am looking for another RX-7. I Had a turbo II 2 years ago but totaled it within my first week. Since then I have always wanted another RX-7 but I wanted a convertible. It is a 1988 and my friend has had one for about 10 years and ever since I knew he had it I have been asking him if I could buy it but he never wanted to sell it. He doesn't drive it much and for the past year or so it has been sitting. It is black with gray leather interior and is in great condition and was well maintaned. It has aftermarket 16" chrome wheel, a body kit, and racing beat mufflers. The car has just under 100k miles on it and is in reat condition except the top is ripped behind the doors on both sides and the passenger side window doesn't work. He has now told me he is selling it and is looking no more than $2500 for it. I have the money but the local auto roof place wants $900 to replace the top. I think I should give him between $1500 and $2000(if he's luck) for it. But he is a friend so i dont want to get over too bad on it. What do you think is the least and the most i should give him for it as is?
