Found a broken sensor... what is it?

Hey,

I found a broken sensor ... can anyone tell me what it is?

This sensor should have 2 tabs on it but one has broken off at the sensor... I guess that explains my check engine light.

So the question is what's it called... what does it do... and where can I get a new one? Will I have to go to the mazda dealership or order it from mazda trix or will I be able to get it at autozone, advance, napa, etc... ?

Thanks,
Rob

So... Will I hurt my engine if I drive around without this sensor?

No, it won't hurt it. You'll probably notice poor gas mileage/lopey idle/etc, simply because it defaults to a fixed temperature, either find someone with a used one, or buy a new one.

Ok I looked through the mazda parts catalog but I cant seem to come up with a part number... any one know the stock mazda part number? Or if autozone/advance autoparts will carry it?

Thanks again,
Rob
