Congrads on getting the car back, but that poor thing looks like hell. Gonna need a few cases of beer, a young priest, an old priest and some paint. lol.

The car I bought was originally owned by a guy my buddy works with on an Air Guard base up north. He sold the car after it popped the engine. My friend bought it, swapped the engine and could never get it running. Then he had a kid, so his wife made him sell it. lol.

So i bought it, and for the last year it has been in the garage collecting dust until I got everything fixed and figured out. Going to make arrangements to drive the car up to the base so the original owner can enjoy seeing it on the road again.

not quite the cigar,, the ODD numbers denote auto versions
n326 is the s4 NA 6p manual, n327 is the same thing but auto
if you find a N326 marked starter its for an M manual box,,,, if you find the n327 marked starter its the long case unit for the auto,, but happily is same bolt pattern as the n318 ( jap and aus ) turbo manual starter
[ one of mazda's little lego tricks ]

similarly n351 is the s5 auto NA

Hey man, Ive been reading through that forum. Anyone know how to diagnose/fix that ignition issue??? Id love to get it back running. I went ahead and bought new spark plugs and some 2-stroke oil to make some pre-mix, but havn't got to tinker on it yet. Theres a drift event in TN in a couple of weeks and I'd love to be able to go, or hell even rollin through Barrett for old time's sake would be fun. I really need some wheels though

Yeah, it would have to be. It's the only one that I know of around Atlanta.

It is. I actually found it on 240atlanta. It needs a lot of work. The retaining clip on one of the injectors is missing i know, but apparently it has some other ignition issues. Anyone wanna come help me work on her soon??? Haha please

IT RUNS!!!!!!!! I found a couple of wires unplugged near the ecu, so i plugged em up, changed the spark plugs, and charged the battery. it ran like poo @ 1st, but i kept letting it idle and would rev it up a lil and it seemed to help. I overall let it run about 30mins. It really needs to be driven. But IT RUNS!!!!! YAY

So after getting it started i wanted to drive it. The problem was, the wheels i had on in (for sitting) were all wrong and it wouldnt roll with them. So i hopped on CL and found some nice 99 Mustang GT wheels with Khumo tires for $250. So i picked em up. Heres a few pics...

I get it at Mills Fleet Farm, which is a midwest big box store. Its usually available anywhere you can buy other Amsoil products...

You should invest in some black spray paint and decal remover/razor blade.

Well damn. I had the car running the other day!!! What hapend? I made 5 gals of premix gas according to yall's direction of 1 oz of 2-stroke oil/1 gal of gas, but now it wont run. I took the new plugs out to clean them off, but it wont keep running, It'll start up but only runs for about 5 seconds then dies. I got a new fuel filter to put on it, so i'll do that soon. So far since ive had it back it's got new gas, new plugs, and about to have a new fuel filter...Any other suggestions?

Yah i'll do that. I noticed theres a couple that need blocking off on the upper intake plenum. But why did it run the other day just fine, and now nothing? What about adding fresh gas would make it not run? It is a 1:128 mix ratio on the gas right? 2-stroke engine oil.

Here a few photos of the stuff ive noticed that isn't exactly right, thanks to the last few owners . The ports on the intake manifold, some little black thing that went into the factory air box @ one point, and these connectors close to the ecu.

Premix shouldn't cause any problems, I'm running the same ratio, 1oz:1gal, in mine with no OMP. Fresh gas won't cause a problem, unless it's bad gas, but it's likely to not start at all with bad gas.

If it's starting for a sec, then dying, it's most likely a vacuum leak. Make sure don't have any leaks in the intake pipe between the MAF and the TB. Also make sure those loose wires are still plugged in well.

Yah t hats what mine is, No OMP, I bought some vacuum caps to plug those up in the picture. I have no idea where those longer plugs go. I'm pretty sure it IS some ignition issue. I'm going to take it to this rotary guy here in GA called 3 face racing this weekend. I saw a couple of their cars at the Import alliance show here in ATL (one of which was a bridge-ported 13B na), and they seem to do really great work.

My Avatar? My Avatar is the old-skool (before they were 240kid trendy) Sportmax 962s. Those in the uploaded pix are the 99 Mustang GT wheels i got off Craigslist.

To bad they scrub like a SOB with those fat 245 tires. I might stretch some 205s or 215s on there later.
