Found an 87 Tii

But i'm not quite sure about the price... :

So i'm taking a friend home today, driving thru his complex and i see a Blue Rx-7 sitting, only noticed the front wheels (car had car cover on ) they were S4 turbo wheels. So i kinda shrugged it off. coming back out of the complex i decide to stop and take a look. As i'm pulling in this guy maybe 28-35yr old asks me if i'm interested in this car. I said sure. Apperently he was the owner. We started talking about the car he left 6 months ago on a business trip and it hasnt been started ever since. So i ask him if we can try to get it started.. Well, no go, seems to have lost compression or something while sitting for so long. We try a couple more turns of the key, and almost get it to start, but only got a few puffs of smoke from the exhaust. So i ask how much? Mind you, car needs paint, interior smells, sunroof is rusted to hell, needs tires (left-right dont match!) needs shifter bushings.. ect..ect. It needs some work. 1500$ WTF! is this guy nuts? what can i tell the guy to get it down to a couple hundred dollars? Any idea's

$1500 is way too much, especially if it doesnt even start (which it may with some time, and a tune-up) Id get him down to like $800 or so, its not worth much more than that. Turbo2s are awesome cars, but its still a 15 year old Rx-7 that needs a paintjob and some body work, and possably engine work.

if he's asking that much for it, i certainly wouldn't be trying to help him get it to run - at least not while it's sitting in his driveway.

i would say, depending on teh condition, it would be worth $700-1000.

Yea, i was thinking more along the lines of 7-800$ for the car... i dunno i'll talk to him, he seemed pretty reasonable..
EDIT. i really didnt get too in depth with trying to start it, cause that would of made the value go up a little. So i said to him well it doesnt start, it's not worth 1500 anymore (he laughed)

"I dont plan on useing the entire car. Maybe the seats, a couple of the interior parts. Main reason i freaked when i saw the car is because i am looking for a turbo car to complete a turbo SWAP in my GXL. (that's my real goal)" We'll see, i'll definatly keep you guys posted

it would be easier to just sell your car and fix up the turbo car...than doing the swap

I guess sentimental value is keeping me from doing that AE. I've got too much invested in my car. granted it an N/A. she's taken me for about a 4,ooo$ spin in the last year.
