Fonud some TII's Need help
I have found some TII's for sale that I am going to look at and I was wondering how to do these things
First
check the compression which plugs do I pull leading or traling? and the traling is on the bottom right?
what will a good compression # on a TII that has 115K miles on it?
Second
how do i pull the codes from the CPU? do i need any speical equpment?
Third
how do i remove the Turbo intercooler and what tools do i need?
thanks for everything
nate

Should be able to remove the intercooler with a screw driver (flathead or phillips) depending on the clamps (Or maybe pliers if it's the screwless type, I've never seen them before however) As for compression, I'd say around 100-105psi would be good.

I honestly dont think it matters which you test compression from. The leading and trailing are both in the same chamber with equal compression on both ends. 105+ psi is good. Anything lower and you probably are looking at a rebuild soon.

TO remove the intercooler you'll need screw driver, pliers, and 10mm 12mm wrench, be carefull not to break the plastic pieces that go into the back of the intercooler, and why do you wanna remove this before you buy it? I dont see this doing much for you,
also drive it!! make sure that it doesnt smoke, check coolant, Check headlights make sure they go up and down, Check the condition of the oil, Check the condition of the airfilter, Watch boost guage!!!
I think that as far as compression goes, anything above 85 is supposed to be good (I THINK, I DONT REMEMBER RIGHT OFF HAND) but it should make three bumps on the compression tester, THis tells that each face of the rotor has good compression....
