my fogs work fine. there is a write up on putting H3 bulbs into an S5 fog light here:

http://www.1300cc.com/howto/how2/h3.htm

headlights must be on for fogs to come on in my car. not sure if that is how it is supposed to be or not, but make sure your headlights are on when you are testing for power.

I got Xenon H3C bulbs off of Ebay cheap, something like $15 a pair, very bright and hint of blue.

the only thing I needed to do was shorten the leads on the bulb because the body of the lamp was longer then the factory unit (Koito brand).

The other response was mostly correct, they only come on if the headlight switch is either on fully or at the park setting.

This is so you don't drive around at night with just light on at the front of the vehicle

On mine the drivers side works fine. The passengers side will work if you give it a little kick... then it will turn off next time you hit a bump. Need to fix that one of these days.

Anybody have information on taking apart the S5 foglights? My passenger side fog has been burnt out since I bought the car almost a year ago, and I've had the replacement bulb sitting next to my keyboard for about that long. There is one screw I can get to, but it is stuck, and it looks like it's for aiming, not getting the lens out. Any help would be appreciated.

The FSM body electrical section shows how to remove the screws on the front inboard side & lift a plastic clip on the outboard side.

I just replaced the stock fixture with some cheap 55watt fogs from Wal-Mart ($14.87)

the foglights on my last 6 FC's all worked properly. I think one of them had a burnt bulb, so I replaced them with a yellow h3c piaa. ($75)

u can get the h3's for like 8 buks at autozone and all u need to do is get an extra wire to use a ground because the new ones have one wire as the old stock bulbs have 2 .. to get the fog lights off its kinda a pain in the *** since the screws will probly strip out but go to 1300cc.com they have a good write up but if u need the bubls go to autozone.. juss my openion its pretty cheap compared to 15 buks a bulb and there fairly bright for 55w
