Fog light fuse suicide
I recently replaced my fog light bulbs with some new H3 12v 55w yellow bulbs, since one of the ones that came with the car was blown. After putting the new ones in, i turned on my lights and admired my work for a few minutes, taking a couple pictures. This was at least 5 minutes that i could visually see the lights were in perfect working order. Then I went inside the car and played with the radio for a minute or two- didn't really do anything except change the track and fix the clock. Go back to shut my hood and the fog lights are now off.
Fuse is blown. Replaced the fuse with a regular 15amp and it blew right away once the switch was tripped. Tried a 20amp fuse just to see if it was the new bulbs fault and the lights turned on for a second before blowing the fuse again.
Ideas?
Cliffs: New bulbs worked perfectly fine for a good 5 minutes, walk away for 1 minute, now it blows fuses instantly.

Never ever ever ever put a higher value fuse than what it is rated for. To blow a 15 amp fuse, you actually need to run 16.5 amps through it. To blow a 20 amp fuse, you need 22 amps running through it... the wire can't support 22 amps for any length of time.
Since you used H3 bulbs and not H3C bulbs, how did you wire the ground?
I would expect that your adapter wiring is shorting out at one of the bulbs.

actually now that i think about it, the lights were already setup to run H3's (silvannia crapstars were in place) with just a ground wire under one of the light screws. i googled what you were talking about (thinking H3 and H3C were the same) and found this picture, its the same setup im using.
the fog lights worked fine until one of the bulbs blew last week, and i found many other people doing this "mod" with great success. what bothers me is the fact that they worked fine for 5 minutes until i looked away.
im going to go double check my grounds right now..

I am sure it worked fine, but I would expect that one of those wires is either touching ground or touching each other.
There is nothing wrong with that, but you need to make sure the wiring is fully covered and protected. The fact that it blew the fuse when you closed the hood suggests that one wire is loose, or touching something that it shouldn't.
