Well the H3C and H3 are essentially the same bulb. Both will fit in the fog light housing just fine. The H3C has the "positive and ground" connectors both built into the fog light bulb itself, so the ground for the bulb runs through the wiring harness.

On an H3 bulb, the bulb only has one connector, for the positive. It grounds itself out on the metal portion of the fog light housing.

You can make the H3 work easily by using this concept. On your FC, the wiring harness plug for the fogs one is positive, the other is ground. You need to buy a male spade connector, an open circular wire connector, and two short pieces of wire.

Crimp/solder the male spade connector and circular connector on the wire.

What you are going to do is make the H3 bulb ground through the fog light frame and back to the wiring harness. There are two screws on the back of the fog light housing, use the round circular wire connector and screw one of the screws through it so it fits securely on the housing and the metal is touching it. Now, you can connect the male spade end on wiring harness ground side to the new connection you just made, and the single wire coming off the H3 bulb to the positive side of the wiring harness.

H3 bulbs are cheaper and readily available so it is worth it if you do this.....

But you must be careful. I did this a couple years ago, now got some yellow bulbs and went to replace them, and I found this.....

So I'm not sure, I guess I need some higher temperature wire? I'm guessing the ground wire I created was touching part of the bulb or bracket for the bulb and got it hot and started melting some insulation. The metal around the bulb has also been hot, but I guess that's just from the heat the bulb creates. One of the prongs on the blub has come undone from the solder. Not sure what to think..

Any H3C will fit directly without modification. Just harder to find and more expensive normally.

I noticed on my new H3 bulbs, that the two little prongs that stick down are both connected to the single wire and that connection is also touching the case of the bulb...wouldn't that cause it to short out when you ground it?

You ran too high of a wattage?

Edit: I just realized I bumped an old thread. For you new people, this is searching. Ohh and RobXX7, it took me over a year to tell you this, but the Silvania information is wrong

Those bulbs were the stock wattage, I'm not sure if it was my solder job, or what. Just a caution. The H3C bulbs were sure hard for me to find in yellow.

Edit: I will post where I found the current yellow bulbs I'm using if I can find out where I got them. I tried two brands, one failed within a week (they were off ebay).

Ok...here are the ones I bought and changed out. They were at the time, the only ones I could find in yellow. I know the image will disappear eventually, so the container says HID xenon gas charged. Looks like the brand is Maxi Car. They are 12v 55w, supposedly look the same as 100w. Has Japanese writing on the packing. These last me maybe a week, they did send me a replacement set free of charge, but I never installed them.

Now for what I have on currently. These have been on the car for over a year now with no problems, although I haven't put many miles on the car, probably less than 1000 miles, or even less than that. Nokya hyper yellow pro halogen 2500k. Part # NOK7659. I can't seem to find my receipt, maybe it's at home. It looks like there are more H3C bulbs with a google search than before...
