Unhappy Fog light bulb

I went to the local rice shop today to get some replacement (super plazma xenon) bulbs for my fog lights so now they will match my head lights. I didnt know what kind they were. So, the guy said that he could look them up and he said that they were "H3" bulbs.....Is that correct?

I removed the bulb form the fog light and it didnt look the same as the replacement bulb. the stock bulb has two prongs on the end of it and the replacement bulbs had just one wire with one male connector on the end of it.

Is this the right one?

The stock bulb is an H3 bulb, just a different style (M style or something like that).

You need to make a jumper that hooks between the stock plug and the ground of the bulb.

the correct fitting bulbs are from mazda only. and cost about $20usd each...

the H3's will work with some time and rewiring... just don't go over the factory rating (55w?)

edit just looked at your pic.. and those are 100w. take them back. you will either melt the stock wiring or the lens

The stock bulbs are called H3C's - do a search on Google for "h3c bulb" and you'll find plenty. You don't have to get them from Mazda.

Correct there Dale, they are "H3c" for the factory foglight...there are a few xenon superwhites out there...i am also in the market for a pair of bulbs but i havent decided which i like yet...simply ask the store if they carry it in H3c style. if not then ask elsewhere.

TYPE: H3c

WATTAGE: 12V 55W

PERFORMANCE: 100W

?!

The bulbs really consume 55w of power, but they act like they're 100w in brightness. Just a marketing gimmick for the "super blue" bulbs.

One thing that I think would look really sharp are yellow bulbs in the foglights, like the Japanese cars had. I have seen yellow H3C bulbs before, too.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but here is how to make the normal h3 lights work with our setup. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/light...onversion.html
I just had to bring it back becuase I spend quite sometime at O'reillys and I didn't want anyone else to do the same.
