Fog is kicking my ***

Well it's rainy season and I just realized my defrosters don't work for beans. So I'm wondering what you guys did to combat fogged windows? My ac/heat work fine but when I felt the vents on top of the dash, there is very little air blowing through there. Is there a reason why it's like this or do you guys know of any products that can prevent the windows from fogging? Thanks for your help.

I would fix the heater so it blows on the windsheild. A common problem is the logicon not working right. It could be other things.

For now you could try ammonia on the windsheild or there may be some anti-fog products.

I'm not quite sure what to look at to see why it isn't blowing air through those vents. Also is it possible to fix it without removing the dash?

Rain-x makes an anti-fog product. My defrost doesn't work also, and after putting this stuff on, I have considerably better visibility. There's a small hint of fog still, but not enough to be dangerous.

I'll give that a shot but I'd still like to know others opinions so whoever else feel free to keep on posting.

Try and find a working logicon. That is the part with all the heater controls. You can replace it without removing the dash. Takes about 30 min if you know what your doing. Go to your local junkyard or buy one on ebay. It could also be your air mix motor not working properly.

Try searching : Air mix motor repair

Logicon replacment

Until you get the logicon fixed, keep the inside and outside of the windows clean and use an anti-fog application like Rain-X. It also helps a lot to keep fresh air circulating through the car, so keep the windows open or if it is raining you can use the air conditioner vent (not on recirculate).

So it's my logicon that isn't working correctly? I thought it was fine since fan control, a/c, and heat worked fine. How would I go about troubleshooting to see if the defrosters are not working correctly through the logicon before I start spending money?

You could start by following the troubleshooting list in the factory service manual.

While the vehicle is turned on, push the floor button then face. While doing this do you hear anything moving? Try pushing diffrent ones. If you hear nothing move then you know it is not working. the air mix motor or logicon needs replaced. Again, try to find a used logicon and plug it in. Then if that doesn't do anything search for -air mix motor repair- ritcher2x12 has a writeup on how to see if the airmix motor is working properly. I don't think I spelled his name right but it did help me by letting me know my airmix motor was good.
