FMIC Question

A friend and I just installed a Greddy Front
mount intercooler on his 89' TII. We also
removed Air controle valve and the rest of
the emissions. There is a metal 90 degree
hose on the passinger side of the car,
under the BOV valve that went to the stock
intercooler pipping. Do you know what to do
with this metel pipping? The car will turn over
but won't start. Any help would be great.

Thank You.

I believe you either need to make a block off plate or plug it. I was actually just discussing this question with a friend last night! lol

Can you get a picture? It almost sounds like part of the air pump.

That is a vent from the nipple at the top oil filler and the vent on top of the block. That doesn't have anything do with starting the car...

90 degree hose???

maybe you've got your angles a bit off. There is a nipple that comes off the BOV pipe and goes to the BAC that is ~45 degrees, or 135 depending on how you look at it. That either needs to be capped or hooked back to the BAC. The 90 degree nippple on that same pipe is for the BOV, if your BOV is placed somewhere else in the IC piping, this nipple needs to be capped.

The pipe I thought you were talking about runs along the top of the housings behind the water pump and connects the vents with the TID.

The pipe that goes to the BAC needs to be run back into the intercooler piping. I had this same problem. Some people run their cars with that line blocked off on the BAC, but mine needed to be run back into the fmic piping. Good Luck!

great, thanks for the help. We can get the car
started but she dies right away. At least she's
trying to start now. This was with this metal
hose blocked off. We'll have to try putting
it in the intercooler pipping.

The greddy frontmount kit comes with a blue rubber nipple to plug it with.

I just removed the bac though.

MAS

That sounds exactly like what happened to my, you either have a HUGE vacuum leak,..that would cause it..

But the MAS sensor being uplugged would also do the same thing you are describing...

quit being a ***** and get standalone, then you can rip that **** off!!!! j/k
