Fmic options and mounting

I am about to paint my engine bay while my engine is getting rebuilt and starting to buy stuff to get my 10th anniversary project on the road. I am looking at my intercooler options. I want to keep my power steering, ac, and air pump for now and want the set up to be able to support 300hp. I dont want to hack up my engine bay too much either and want it to mount in front of the radiator. I am looking at a HKS set up but dont really know how it is going to mount and much i have to cut. I plan on a s5 bumper for room but the HKS is quite a bit of money and was looking at some older style but they are hard to find. So some pics of how the HKS mounts would help and some sudjestions of a intercollers would help too. Thanks

I'm contemplating the same thing, however what i've noticed is there isn't a heck of alot of room between the oil cooler lines and the grill piece. I've come to the conclusion I'll either need to invest in a smaller intercooler or provid access points for the tubing to go.

If you have any welding skill, or are planning on getting the pipes custom installed, I can run over to my friend's house later today and snap a few pics of his setup. He did it himself using an ebay intercooler and routed it to keep the AC/PS.

There is room underneath the side rad supports to run 2.5" piping on each side, so you can mount the intercooler with the inlet/outlet pipes pointing down and then use 90 degree bends to get it into the engine bay. I've done this a few times to avoid cutting. The outlet pipe then runs under the PS and AC, and makes a hard bend directly up somewhere around the oil filler tube.

Did you have FMIC when you did your N/A->Turbo conversion? I thought you did a modified TMIC and converted it but I might just be making stuff up...

I was thinking about using an intercooler like this one:
here where both the inlet and outlet are on the same side of the intercooler, thus allowing a shorter distance with the piping... but that might require a cut in to the car to fit the pipes right

I thought about a intercooler like that but i did not think it woud flow as nice as one with the inlet and outlet on either side of the intercooler because i am no expert but wouldnt the air have to travel up or down through the intercooler it to enter or exit rather than through one side out of the other? I was looking at This

I previously had a TII IC converted to front mount. I brought both pipes through the passenger side rad support. Now I have a larger front mount and have the inet pipe through the passenger rad support, outlet pipe through the drivers. This requires some cutting, however.

I was thinking about using an intercooler like this one:

Yes, you will need to cut at least one hole in the rad support. 2" piping will go straight through, 2.5-3" on an angle.

So would that fmic be what i should be looking for and should i go v spec or r spec heard r spec dont allow enough air to the rad? And would it be possible for you to get some pics for how you cut the support and how you have the piping that would be cool.

I don't know what "v spec" or "r spec" means.

Here's the first version:
