Fmic Killed My Car

Check it out, I need some help.

Here's the deal. I have a 87 T2 with a mild street port and ported wastegate. My car is running like crap after I installed my FMIC. Sounds like it's rich, and my A/F gauge reads rich, so it must be rich. I have a FCD and no boost controller, but I'm getting about 11psi. Before I put the FMIC it was running cool. So what gives???

You probably have a leak somewhere.

leak

He's right. I installed my FMIC (greddy) and it was not running all that great.

Untill I found a vacuum leak in one of my hoses. It's been running great since then!

May I ask who made your front mounted intercooler?

It's a Sparco intercooler, with plumbing I did myself. It ain't the best but it's pretty good for now.

I guess I'll check for leaks.

what did you do with the 2 lines that go to the stock IC? did you plumb them into the new one?

ijust put a fmic on my t2... runs real good but i didn't get my blow off valve welded on yet so just yesterday i went 2-3rd real hard and the car stopped running. it felt like a fuel problem cause when i finally got it to start i had to keep it above 4000 rpm...after i got it home i foud it to be that when i shifted it blew the plug from the back of the intake duct off and another vacumm plug from the bottom of the back valve.... so check for the plug on the back of your intake... good luck let em know how you make out... oh yah make sure you cap off all your old ic lines real good
