flywheel resurfacing

OK I ahve searched as someone said i should do and have found so muhc contradictory information its not even funny, I have a 87 N/A that I am putting a new clutch in, first off are there benefits to resurfacing the flywheel??.....also what is the spec it can be resurfaced too?

The benifits are longer clutch life, since the surface is worn with the old clutch.

Just take it to a tranny shop, should only be about $30.

Or a local place that resurfaces brake rotors should also be able to do it. A friend had his resurfaced at Midas and they actually did a very nice job.

Agreed. Worthwhile to do if you're interested in long-term reliability of the clutch. Cheap to do, too.

I have my motor apart and putting in a new clutch so I am going to have my flywheel resurfaced. If you have it all apart there is not reason not to resurface it.
