flywheel resurfacing
OK I ahve searched as someone said i should do and have found so muhc contradictory information its not even funny, I have a 87 N/A that I am putting a new clutch in, first off are there benefits to resurfacing the flywheel??.....also what is the spec it can be resurfaced too?
little help goes a long way guys, thanx CTH |
The benifits are longer clutch life, since the surface is worn with the old clutch.
Just take it to a tranny shop, should only be about $30. |
Or a local place that resurfaces brake rotors should also be able to do it. A friend had his resurfaced at Midas and they actually did a very nice job.

Agreed. Worthwhile to do if you're interested in long-term reliability of the clutch. Cheap to do, too.

I have my motor apart and putting in a new clutch so I am going to have my flywheel resurfaced. If you have it all apart there is not reason not to resurface it.
