Flywheel nut

Hey does anyone know the size of the flywheel nut socket on a S4 n/a, ive heard 44mm 54mm 52mm ect....

Sideways7 02-07-06 10:08 PM

Its 54mm (2 1/8th inch)

BuujinBejiita 02-07-06 10:11 PM

Well the 2 1/8th standard, I have that but should I really risk using a standard on a metric nut of that size and torque?

Sideways7 02-07-06 10:13 PM

To my knowledge, they are basically identical. I'll find a converter to make sure.
Edit: 2 1/8 inch is less than 1/1000th of an inch too big, so it will work fine, especially on a nut that big.

Snap-On labels the same socket with both numbers.

54mm is official.
2-1/8" is close enough.

Or you could look here: http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtNumber=22000
That thing is a lifesaver, btw. Makes it super easy to get off.

Hey Aaron, sry I was in a bit of a rush, I was actually going to email you before I posted :P

Aaron Cake 02-08-06 02:38 PM

Don't email me...6 month wait...A search can generally answer any question in a few minutes (and teach you a bunch of other stuff as you loook through the topics). :)

A little twist to that tool makes it even easier.

1/2" Impact with with either of those sizes takes it right off. The bolt on the front of the e-shaft is another story sometimes.

Sideways7 02-08-06 06:09 PM

Yeah, you generally have to blow torch that one.
