Dang flywheel nut won't come off
I've already got the tranny out, along with the clutch and pressure plate, and now I'm stuck on the flywheel nut. I'm using a breakbar and a flywheel break, and all that's happening is the engine is torquing in the mounts. I didn't want to keep trying, see the engine move like that was a little unsettling. Should I just keep trying or did I forget something along the way?
You need a strong impact. I had an FD flywheel nut *STUCK* like you wouldn't believe. If an impact does not work, you need to jam the flywheel. Below the clutch slave, there is a aluminum plate held on by a 10mm bolt. Remove that and jam a pipe in there such as a floor jack pipe( perfect size..what I used). You might want to unbolt the clutch slave just in case. The flywheel will lock and then use a breaker bar.

I tried a breaker bar, hammering, impact wrench, lots of lube, sweet talk, nothing would get that nut off! ... I'm talking about the flywheel nut, sicko! 
Anyway, what finally worked for me was heating it for a little while with a propane torch. Then it came off nice-n-easy.

Put the car up on ramps, brace the flywheel somehow, put a breaker bar on the nut, facing down, slip a pipe over the breaker bar and let it slip all the way down to the ground, should be bout 2+ feet long, kick breaker bar as hard as you can from the side of the car, may need a friend to sit back to back to brace you, flywheel nut off.

I broke teeth off my flywheel ring gear when trying to use a brace and a 14' "persuader"
The impact zipped it off no problem. We had our air compressor pushing 125 psi, which most decent compressors should be able to handle.

yeah a nice big piece of pipe on the old breaker bar works, but I snapped a 1/2" bar at about 600 lbs of force. I think it's only the front bolt that has the locktite on it, but anyways a impact gun is the best. If you got a compressor, you could probabily rent a gun or borrow one. My roomates a truck mechanic and they've got a 1" drive pushing something like 1200 lbs of torque.

Or, you could go to the Mazda dealer, and borrow their torque multiplier that is specifically designed for the job... Just give 'em your drivers licence and slip the guy $20 to let you borrow it for an hour.
