Neither, it's one piece cast into it.

You MUST purchase or acquire a rear automatic counterweight for an aftermarket flywheel. IT must be appropriate to your year of engine. Flywheel retailers should offer that, as well.

There is no stock counterweight on the manual tranny, it is biult into the flywheel. (At least on all the N/As that I have worked on)

Counterweight

RR is right. you must buy an auto counterweight. there should only be two models depending on the rotors in your engine.

heavier rotor~86-88 (s4)
lighter rotor~89-93 (s5 and s6)

There are also weights for all the 1gen engine variations, too...just ask for an automatic rear counterwight for whatever year your car is when you order.

Anybody that bought a JDM engine with a auto may still have one around.

Go the the For sale section 2nd gen specific and post a WTB post. Somebody will answer it

What about...

Which counterweight would I need to run if I ran an ACT Prolight or Streetlight flywheel on an N/A engine with a TII tranny?

Your S5 counterweight should be an S5 automatic counterweight.
The flywheel needs to match your turbo tranny, so a turbo flywheel.
