Fluid in floorboard-poss. coolant?

I have started experiencing a buildup of fluid (coolant) under my floormats. I looked around behind the dash where the heater vents are but couldnt tell if that was the source of the fluid. Do you guys think ive got a leak in my heater core or something?

i cant figure out where the source of the fluid is. it seems like it seeps up from under the floor mats. Would i be able to see the leak without removing the dash and all that to access the core?

you would know if its coolant, it could either be your windshield leaking or condensation from the ac leaking into the cabin. Clear the cabin ac drain tube and take it from there

on a vert it could just be rain water through the top or door panels

Usually, fluid on the mat is clutch/brake fluid. However, if you are pretty sure it is coolant, and/or it is also under the passenger side floor mat, then you probably need to replace the heater core, which is inside the "heater unit" shown in the FSM or Hanyes manual.

check the heater hose which goes from the engine into the heater core. it could be old and leaking coolant into the cabin. I had this issue before. That or you clutch master is leaking. you need to identify what kind of fluid it is first.

i guess what i mean to say is that it is coolant, but i wasnt sure from where it is coming . I am figuring that there is a leak in my heater/ac unit.

check the hoses on the firewall that go to your heater core. If those are not leaking, then most likely your heater core is.

Taste it. If it's sweet, then it's coolant. If it is sour, then it is clutch/brake fluid. Don't swallow and then wash your mouth out with water and spit afterwards.

The fluid soaks below the carpet, and you can tell that is has some type of unnatural smell, but it is really difficult to identify it by sight or smell.
