fluid change advice/being level
fluid change advice/being level
two part:
From looking at the coolant overflow, cold is higher than hot. So, does this clarify that a fluid when cold takes up more mass?
Second, I'm changing my MTF and the car is not level so the reading will be affected. The front is on ramps and we added 3 quarts (expecting the fluid to gush forth when it was filled). So now, the fluid is just slowly dripping down. Should I let it completely stop draining or not since it is not level.
Or is there no replacement for being level?
I put the plug back on for now and there is probably 2.8 in there since some has drained, but the flow is ever so slight.

I wouldn't worry so much. But if I remember right I didn't even raise my car when I filled my tranny. I used a long tube and a funnel so a friend could fill from the engine bay while I held the other end in the tranny.
I'm small and I figured out which way to orient myself so my head wouldn't get stuck, heh. I just lowered my car a hair so now that method is out.
