fluctuating oil pressure

I have been reading the forum for awhile, just joined. I have a base 87 with an oil gauge that read fine (30 at idle, 60 at speed) until a few months ago. Now it sometimes works, sometimes reads low, and sometimes sits at zero. I read somewhere on another page that it could be the oil pressure sender. Does anyone have any info on this? BTW, I have tried the search engine for a week but it seems to be down. Thanks.

try changing your oil too, the older it gets the easyer it foams, an oil pan baffle plate will stop this mostly

Do a filter and oil change first like drago86 suggested. Chances are that your oil pressure sender is faulty.

Thanks, I'll try that suggestion, it was getting time to change the oil anyways.
