Floor Mat Infini

Hey guys, I bought what's supposed to be one of the first models that ever came out in Japan for the 2nd generation of the RX7. I doubt everything that I've been told for the car since the guy that was selling it was somewhat sketchy. I have a question regarding the floor mats that I'm not able to find anywhere online. I only have one out of two and I at least wanted to see how much they cost, I doubt I'd be able to afford the 2nd mat. Does anyone know where can I find them or are they specific to the first models only or if they were maybe even custom made and they were not actually sold with the cars?

you'd be looking for a reproduction floor mat company, and likely would pay a pretty penny for a one off to be done.

I couldn't even find pictures of any other mats online and I was curious which models had them. I'm not too familiar with the infini series as I was told that there isn't a big difference in between a base turbo model and an infini.

I think I only saw the floor mat logo over one website that would not let me view it because I'm not in Japan.

mostly they are aesthetic differences, the infini was sold in japan so you won't find a whole lot of pictures. they were low run vehicles to start with and few were exported only until recently and still in very low numbers. pictures have purged from databases over the years so you're really fighting a hill trying to find any documentation or pictures of new originals. what you have is probably about as good as you will get for a basis. you're kind of lucky the car was even complete and had them still.

i highly doubt there is any new originals anywhere in the world left. you could try talking to a japanese auto specialist importer who is willing to search, or simply try to find a reproduction specialist.

sometimes trying to go the 100% original route is simply impossible, this is likely one of those cases.

if it's an older thread, 10+ years ago, most of those images are all gone now, sadly.

i wouldn't let it keep me from searching, but stuff that used to be somewhat available isn't so much anymore, pictures or parts.

Ive got every infini book and every part they ever made and spend a lot of time collecting specifically FC infini products. These floor mats pop up for sale on yahoo auctions. Ive got a couple sets but hanging on to them. The floor mat youre missing is the two piece one that snaps together under the foot rest. When I buy them they run 250-400usd based on condition

Its kinda silly but its been fun for me, heres pics if you want that i have of the infini stuff. I modded my LHD to fit infini parts, everything but the floor carpet and door cards, which yes you can still find. You can see closeup of the mat youre missing. I can send pics of the inside of the books too. Lots of infini disinformation out there. Ive even got infini owners manual inserts which I didnt even know they existed til they popped up.

I have a set of brand new aftermarket infini mats without the emblem id be willing to give u for near free.
