Flooding tips

Hi guys,

Sent my car for car wash yesterday, the worker tried starting my car and missed a couple of times. Hence he kept cranking/flooding the engine till I came by (It is common to leave ur car to the car wash in Malaysia) and found out what mess he has done.. Can't blame him though. Anyway, tried depressing the throttle fully to cut the fuel pump and cranked.. didn't work.. Removed the EGI fuse and cranked it but didn't work too. I was almost going to carry out the ATF unflooding procedures, till I tried unplugging this relay under the steering column, from what I see it could be the fuel pump's master relay.. Unplugged and cranked for only one time, car almost fired up but died off cos no fuel supply. After plugging back the relay and viola!! Fires up instantly with an almost dead battery (due to too many cranking).

I have not seen anyone mention about this method of starting a flooded car in any forum and website.. but it worked for me. Hope it helps. Try it!

Its the BLACK relay with YELLOW plug.

yeah most people wire a switch to the big black wire on that plug to cut the fuel so they dont have to get out of the car to unflood it... cuz its embarrasing.... haha

Why need to wire the switch when u can just unplug it easily even while sitting on the driver's seat? Am I doing anything wrong unplugging the whole thing?
