Fixing horrible dash wiring
So I'm swapping my red interior in my 87 TII to black. i was having some electronic problems so i knew i was going to have to fix some wiring behind the dash after i pulled it.
this car was equipped with 6 small gauges, monster tach, turbo timer, electronic boost controller, microtech LT10 and meth injection controller. the microtech and meth injection i installed myself so i know the wiring is ok on those. but everything else is a complete rats nest! i started by cutting out all the wires that where obviously for the gauges. my goal here is to get all the factory wiring back to normal and install the boost controller timer and 3 of the gauges back in, the right way this time. I'm thinking i can do a really nice job rewiring this stuff now considering i have the dash off. i want to make any aftermarket wiring look like factory. so tomorrow i will post up some pictures of what the wiring looks like now so you can see what I'm working with. main thing I'm trying to get right is where should i get power for all these devices? whoever did it before had all the power wires going to the headlight switch! that's like 6 power wires going to one skinny switched ignition source on the headlight switch.. so i need a good ignition switched power source for all these items, one that wont be overloaded. i will also need some pics of the body side of the dash harness so i can see how everything should look from the factory. Can anyone show me any pictures like this?
ill be back tomorrow with more info and pictures..
